The client

EzyDog Australia is a fast-growing brand committed to designing high-quality, customisable pet gear that lets dog owners personalise items with their pet’s name or other unique labels. With a focus on functionality, durability, and style, EzyDog products, such as harnesses, leashes, and accessories, encourage active, outdoor lifestyles, promoting healthier, happier lives for dogs and their owners.

The brief

Ezydog are always innovating the retail experience for their customers, whether this is great loyalty programs or the ability to customise labels for individual dogs. Ezydog have now partnered with one of Australia’s largest physical pet stores, Petstock, to provide their customers with the ability to add a custom label from the store. A customer purchases a harness in store at Petstock and selects the custom label option at the checkout where they receive a custom card and barcode. This is used for the website and enable the customer to create their own label. This custom label will then be shipped to the customer within 24 hours and can be easily attached to the harness.

How we helped

For this project we truly pushed beyond standard Shopify functionality. It required an advanced level of custom development to connect in-store purchases with online customisation options seamlessly. We built a dedicated app to handle voucher verification and redemptions, syncing Petstock's store-bought vouchers with EzyDog’s custom label orders online in Shopify. Our solution included our own database structure that verified each unique code, allowing customers to easily redeem their voucher on EzyDog’s site. The customer would enter details for a customised label, selecting colors and previewing the label before submitting.

This setup enabled a true omni-channel experience, linking physical and digital retail environments to streamline the customer journey from voucher purchase to customised product order.

The result

The custom app delivered a seamless and user-friendly experience, successfully integrating in-store purchases with online customisation. Through this solution, customers redeemed their vouchers effortlessly online, selecting label colors and previewing designs before submitting orders. The advanced voucher verification system ensured smooth processing and reliable order handling through Shopify, significantly enhancing the customer journey.
