The client

Stitched Up Kits is an Australian-based brand founded by two sisters with a shared love for creativity and making. What began as a childhood passion for cross-stitching and crafting evolved into a mission to help others rediscover their creative spark. After years of studying and working in engineering, the founder reconnected with her creative side during the 2020 lockdowns through embroidery, a craft that perfectly balanced structure and artistic freedom. Inspired by this experience, she set out to make embroidery accessible and enjoyable for everyone, especially those who might not consider themselves “creative.” Today, Stitched Up Kits empowers people around the world to slow down, create, and find joy through stitching.

The brief

With fresh new branding in place, Stitched Up Kits wanted a website that truly reflected the brand’s personality, creative, modern, and approachable, while improving user experience and conversion performance. As the brand prepared to scale internationally across Australia, the US, UK, Canada, and New Zealand, they needed a cohesive eCommerce experience that could grow with them. The goal was clear: redesign the website to better communicate their brand story, enhance navigation and on-site flow, and optimise for conversion rate and average order value.

How we helped

We began with a detailed UX audit, reviewing every aspect of the existing site to identify friction points and improvement opportunities.

To create a smoother, more intuitive experience, we introduced:

  • Mega Navigation: A new dropdown structure that showcases the full product catalogue at a glance.
  • Themed Collections: New ways to shop by inspiration, Nature, Flora, Mediterranean, helping users explore by mood or aesthetic.
  • Enhanced Filtering: Added options to filter by skill level and time to complete so customers can find the right kit for them.
  • Guiding Badges: Quick visual cues like “Beginner Friendly” or “4+ hours” added to product cards for at-a-glance context.
  • Redesigned iconography across the site for a cohesive, custom visual language.
  • Reworked the “What’s in the Kit” section on the homepage, turning a hidden bullet list into a bold, icon-led feature that clearly communicates value.
  • Added a “Pairs Well With” section on product pages to highlight complementary kits and show tiered discounts dynamically.
  • Rebuilt the Beginner’s Guide with a sticky sub-navigation, allowing visitors to jump between topics easily without scrolling endlessly.

The result is a cleaner, faster, and more inspiring shopping experience, one that reflects the brand’s creativity and supports conversion growth.

The result

The new website launched in November 2025, just ahead of the busy Black Friday and Christmas period. While performance data is still being collected, the redesign has already transformed the browsing and shopping experience.

The improved navigation, filtering, and product guidance make it easier than ever for customers to find the right kit, while the refreshed visuals and iconography bring the new brand identity to life. Stitched Up Kits now has a site that not only looks beautiful but is built to convert, and scale with their growing international audience.
